So this week has been tiring for so many reasons. Reason 1. Yesterday was my last day at Lush and I am heartbroken about leaving my second family. Reason 2. I have been very sick (yet again) and haven’t had much energy to do anything. But the main reason, Reason 3. I’ve got a brand new puppy called Crowley! If you follow me on any type of social media, you would have seen my countdown until my boy got here. You would see that I tweet about my hamsters and my pug 24/7 and am completely obsessed and in love with my pets. Just in case you don’t follow any of my social media, allow me to introduce you to the loves of my life.
You’ve heard of Queen Bey, but have you ever heard of Queen D? Darcie Dog may just be a pug, but she acts like royalty. If you thought dogs were just pets, then you’re very wrong. My brother would do anything and everything for her. He will make sure that Darcie has the best of everything. Nothing is too much for our Darcie Dog. She’s such a kind, sweet and energetic little thing that passerby’s just have to stop and say hello to her. For a long time I genuinely believed that she hated me. Maybe she does… but she hasn’t shown any hate towards me recently (thank goodness). However, I haven’t seen her since I got Crowley. So maybe that will change.
Darcie was the first dog I ever had part ownership of, and for that she’ll forever be my special girl. She’s a silly sausage, but she’s also a queen who’s a force to be reckoned with. Depending on if she likes you, she might be the silly loveable doggo that I know and love, or she might use her abilities to annoy you in a royal fashion.
Sam Hamchester is of course named after Sam Winchester from Supernatural. It should come as no surprise to anyone that knows me personally, or follows me on social media, that Supernatural is my favourite show ever. So when I had the chance to get hamsters, of course I was going to name the brothers, Sam and Dean! I saw that opportunity and I took it. Sam is a shy but very, very sweet hamster. For a lot of people he tends to be quite reserved and not make many public appearances. He gets stressed extremely easily and bites and poops to show his discomfort. Sometimes though, he’ll be extremely comfortable with you and just poop on you because he knows he’s safe. Basically, Sam is a poop machine that looks adorable.
Sam is my albino baby that has demonic red eyes. But he couldn’t be more of a sweetie pie. He’s chubby, sometimes moody, playful and silly, but he’s one of the best things I’ve got in my life. For the longest time he didn’t actually like me. He and Dean had a huge fight and I saved Dean seeing as he was the smallest and needed to be protected from the naughty boy that was Sam. But after months of trying and crying, Sam finally gave over. He now trusts me more than anyone else and that is everything I could have ever hoped for.
As you’ve probably guessed by now, Dean is Sam’s brother. Not just in Supernatural, but in real life! Dean isn’t anything like Sammy though. Dean is a darker colour, slightly grey and brown and he’s very sociable. He’s not a fan of other animals that are bigger than both him and Sam (sad times), but he adores the attention from us humans. He’s a cheeky, precious baby that loves running around in his ball. He mainly loves winding up Sam and Crowley by smashing into them while they’re minding their own business.
To start off with, Dean didn’t like anyone. He was very scared of everything and didn’t like coming out of his little house. He slowly grew fond of having my mum around, but it took a long time for him to start trusting me and allowing me to pick him up from his cage. These days, as I leave the house or I’m about to do something outside, he comes out and stares at me as if he’s offended that I’m leaving him. If you’ve ever held onto something so small and tiny and fell in love, you’d know how I feel when I hold Sam and Dean. Many people say Russian Dwarf Hamsters are meant to be calm…. but no. Mine are 110% not calm. Maybe they’re broken??
Crowley is my baby boy. He was born on the 25th of May 2017 and he finally came home on the 23rd of July. Crowley is the first dog I’ve ever fully owned. He lives with me and I get to hold him every single day. Having a dog is such a blessing, especially after pleading with my parents for years about getting one. He makes me happy when I feel sad. He’s funny by just being a puppy and doing silly things.
Before we get any further, yes, he’s named after Crowley from Supernatural. (All we need is a guinea pig called Castiel now). Crowley is a good and clever boy. He’s settling into our home life really well and we’ve had little to no accidents toilet training him so far. He’s got a favourite toy called Sheepy and he also loves a monkey made from old socks. He’s beyond hyperactive and has the energy to fuel an army. I don’t know how I was awake last night to write all of this after playing with him in the garden. We’re getting his second lot of injections today so hopefully things will get easier when he’s able to go out and socialise with other dogs and burn off the excess energy.
I hope you don’t think I’m mental for introducing you to my pets. They’re a big part of my life, just like you guys are so I thought it would be nice for you to finally meet. I’ll also be changing my posting schedule for a few days just so I can get back on track and still look after Crowley. Wish me luck with my hell hound’s vet appointment today! And until next time, have an awfully big adventure for me.
